6hr Paediatric First Aid Course for Nannies, Au Pairs and childcarers

Our one day 6 hour Paediatric First Aid Course leads the way in providing the most up-to-date and essential First Aid information for nannies, whilst also meeting all the requirements for the Ofsted Voluntary Register. This course covers all the necessary subjects for the voluntary part of the Ofsted childcare register.

All of our one day courses are held on Saturdays at various locations around the UK. The course is delivered by a qualified Paediatric First Aid Trainer. The course is presented using a mix of powerpoint presentation, demonstrations and practise sessions. At the end of the day you will be asked to complete a short multiple choice questionnaire. On completion of the course you will receive a very useful Paediatric First Aid Booklet and your Certificate which is valid for 3yrs.

Frequently Asked Questions

I've heard that I need to attend a 12hr course for Ofsted Registration is this right?

No, if you are a Nanny or Au Pair and want to apply for the Voluntary Ofsted Register then the 6hr course is fine. This course meets the criteria set by the Early Years Foundation Stage and is therefore suitable for OFSTED REGISTRATION. Childminders and those working in a nursery are required to complete a 12hr course

Will I be expected to complete a test?

It is essential that you leave the course with the knowledge and skills to deal with an emergency. You will be asked to complete a very simple multiple choice test at the end of the day. The trainer will review your answers before presenting your certificate; if you answered any questions incorrectly the trainer will spend time recovering these areas.

I have been on courses before where I've had to speak/demonstrate in front of the group, will this happen?

Our trainer will always ensure that everyone feels comfortable and is relaxed and able to learn. We invite questions but would never ask a delegate to speak or demonstrate to the group.

When will I get my Certificate and how long is it valid for?

As long as you book at least 3 days before the course date you will be presented with your certificate at the end of the day. You will also received a Paediatric First Aid Book. All certificates are valid for 3yrs.
